Reflecting on the Journey: A Year of Growth and Faith with 8:28 Management: Twelve Days of Christmas- Day 10

As we near the end of another year, I find myself reflecting on an incredible journey—one that has been filled with both challenges and triumphs. This past year has been transformative, not only for me personally but also for 8:28 Management. I’d love to share some of the moments that have defined this year and shaped the vision for our future.

A Year of Milestones

July 9th, a Day of Miracles Some days are simply unforgettable. For me, July 9th—my birthday and the day my husband officially adopted my oldest two daughters in 2014, cementing the love and unity within our family—was one such day. On this day, both Kim and I celebrated our graduation from the Regeneration program at Clife church, a journey of faith, healing, and personal growth. These moments reminded me of the power of God’s timing and purpose.

The Birth of 8:28 Management

In May, we took a leap of faith and officially created 8:28 Management LLC. This venture wasn’t just a business idea; it was a calling. We joined the She is Wealthy Mastermind with Megan Unsworth that same month, diving headfirst into a world of new possibilities, surrounded by incredible mentors and like-minded individuals. The dedication and diligence we’ve poured into 8:28 have been nothing short of life-changing.

We’ve expanded our horizons, stepping into areas we hadn’t originally planned, such as social media marketing and website design. At the Mastermind in July, our coach and mentor saw potential in us as executive coaches—a revelation that sparked a new direction and purpose for our work. It’s amazing how God’s plans often exceed our own.

Milestones of Creation and Launch

This year has been a year of creation. We recorded our first TEDx Talk, an opportunity to share our story and inspire others. We wrote a chapter in a book that will be published in early 2025, and I published an eBook titled The FLY Method, a guide to finding purpose through solutions, love, and growth. These milestones were not part of the original plan, but they are evidence of how obedience to God’s calling can lead to incredible outcomes.

We also launched our website, established a social media presence, and started our blog. These steps weren’t easy, and they required persistence, but they were necessary to share our message and reach those who need our services.

Lessons Learned During our Year of Growth and Faith

One of the most valuable lessons we’ve learned this year is the importance of pacing ourselves. We’ve committed to under-promising and over-delivering because we believe in exceeding expectations, not just meeting them. Balancing ambition with realistic expectations has helped us avoid burnout and stay true to our values.

We’ve onboarded several new clients and now serve many recurring ones since our official launch in late September. Yet, we’ve also realized that mastery takes time. There is always room for growth, and being lifetime learners is essential to providing the highest level of service to our clients.

Another critical lesson has been the importance of patience. Not everything takes off immediately, and that’s okay. Social media, for example, is a consistent process. As Megan often reminds us, “likes and follows don’t get you into heaven.” Consistency, faith, and perseverance are what truly matter.

Staying True to Our Purpose

What we know for sure is this: If we keep God at the center of our purpose and always do the right thing for the right reason, He will provide for us. Setbacks are inevitable, but they are opportunities to learn, grow, and do better the next time. We’ve learned to pivot when necessary while staying true to our core values and the ultimate destination God has set for us.

Questions for Reflection

As we reflect on this past year, I encourage you to do the same. Ask yourself:

  • What challenges have you faced this year, and what did they teach you?

  • What milestones are you most proud of?

  • How can you stay true to your values while pursuing growth?

  • What steps can you take to prepare for an even more purposeful year ahead?

Looking Ahead

This year has been a testament to God’s faithfulness and the power of perseverance. As we move forward, our commitment to serving our clients with excellence remains unwavering. We are excited to continue growing, learning, and walking in obedience to the purpose He has placed in our hearts.
